A New Journey

Death is not the end...it's simply a completetion of one journey and the beginning of a much better one!

Farewell on your heavenly journey, Bro. Wayne! We'll miss you...but we'll met you in that sweet by and by! Thank you for the impact you made on our lives! You're gone from this present world...but NEVER forgotten by us!

Our hearts have been overwhelmed since the phone rang on Monday evening to tell us of your passing. We have cried many tears, and then laughed at many memories and times we shared with you. We have thought of all the wonderful times you encouraged me and my husband over the last 22 years,(and especially in the last year since we moved back to Louisiana!) and then found ourselves asking each other what we would do without your encouragement and smiles that you always gave to us so freely. There will be a void in our life...that's for sure. But we know that each time a rememberance of you is brought to our mind, a smile will follow!

Things just won't be the same without you...especially at church and on the platform. It will be hard for us to look over at the place you always sat and played your guitar. Your voice will be missed when we have special songs. We will have to find a new normal and learn to get through without you. But, one thing for sure...we will never forget you! We loved you too much!

Prayer Request

We just got back home from Arkansas. We had just arrived and started unpacking when we received the call that a dear friend of ours and a member of our church had been taken to the hospital with a heart attack/stroke and died. Our hearts have been heavy and grieved since the call. Our focus was on coming home and being with this family that has been a dear friend to us for many, many years.

Please say a prayer for the Hyatt family and for our church family. Wayne Hyatt was a great asset to our congregation and our platform will not be the same without him there. My heart is heavy...my questions are many...

I can't help but smile at the conversation I had with Bro. Wayne Hyatt just this past Sunday morning before service started. I asked him, "How are you, Bro. Wayne?"
He answered in the usual response that he always had..."I was good...but now I'm better."

He LOVED to come to the house of the Lord and worship Him in praise and song. He loved the preached word of God. He simply was a joy to be around and you were going to laugh and smile if you were in his presence. It's just who he was.

I can't help but think that if I could ask him about now, "How are you, Bro. Wayne?" that his response would be even more so..."I was good...but now I'm better!"

You see, the view he has now is so much better than what we are left with here in this earthly body. The joy he has is so much greater than what we can experience here. The peace and rest that he's entered into is far beyond what one can find here on earth. Yes, I'd have to say that he was doing pretty good here...but now he's so much better!

VACATION!!!

Ahhh...tomorrow morning starts our vacation. We're leaving about 5am to head out to Arkansas. My in-laws have been there for the past week and we are going to join them. I'm so ready for a vacation...so ready!

See you all in a week or so.

Early Birthday Present...

Landon's birthday is in a couple weeks, but he's getting to enjoy his present a little early. Mainly because we let him pick out what he wanted, and he couldn't wait for us to put it up!

He's wanted a trampoline for a long time, but momma has been set against him having one because I didn't want to deal with all the injuries I hear about happening on a trampoline. Needless to say, Landon won out when he hugged me and kissed me in the store yesterday and told me that he 'loved me bigger than space'...I mean, really, it's not fair when he pulls those kind of stunts!

He jumped straight out of bed and went outside to see if the trampoline was set up this morning. My poor husband had been working since about 6:30 on it and was hoping to have it completed before Landon came outside. That didn't happen!

My apologies for the lack of clothing in this picture, but he didn't take time to get clothes on, and I wanted pictures of when he first seen it and got on it.

And of course, daddy is not as easy going as momma on the no clothes thing, so he sent him inside real fast to get some clothes on so momma could take decent pictures to post 'to show the world just what the Kennon family is up to because we wouldn't want the world to go a day without knowing what we're doing now, would we?' (He cracks me up with his annoyance with my blogging sometimes.)

Don't worry...we bought a safety enclosure net and padding for all the poles, but Landon wanted to jump on it while daddy is working on finishing it.

And, just so that the world knows everything that the Kennon family is up to, I thought I'd post these pictures. Because, you know...I want the whole truth out there, honey!

Now...that's enough playing...get finished with installing the safety enclosure, dear! Or, I'll have to tell the world on you!
