I wish there was a word bigger than THANKS!

There are those times in life when words fail...tonight was one of those times! October is Pastor Appreciation month, so the church had a reception for my in-laws and my husband and I tonight after service. My jaw literally dropped when my mom-n-law came and got me to show me the cake and all the stuff they had for us. The food was great, the decorations beautiful, the cake gorgeous, and the gifts perfect! They even gave Landon a gift card so he could go pick him out a new toy. How sweet was that?

I couldn't help but laugh when I seen this...

let me explain...the young girl that was given this piece of cake said she hated to bite into my face! I laughed so hard...I told her to take advantage of it and go ahead and bite my head off for once!

I love these people so much!! They give me so many reason to smile and laugh. I am thankful that the road of life has taken me here to serve such wonderful people. THANK YOU, Pentecostal House of Praise for treating us so kindly tonight...and always. You are all so special to me and I love each of you so dearly. You are my family.

My in-laws...

Anthony, myself and Landon...

I am so used to being on the other end of this story...for many many years, I have been the one helping decorating, preparing and serving at these types of functions, so it's overwhelming for me to be on the receiving end. I know the hard work and preparations that go into something like this. I know all the planning it takes. I know how time consuming it is. Therefore, I so wished there was a word bigger than 'THANKS'...because I would surely use it to tell everyone here how much I appreciate all that was done for us tonight!

My buddy, who is an awesome photographer, took pictures of everything tonight, so when he brings me the CD of pictures, I'll have to share them, but for now these are all the pictures I have.

Fall is here...

I absolutely love Fall...and all the festivities around the small towns here in Louisiana. We are enjoying all the pumpkin patches, and other activities. We have plans to go to a corn maze in another town this Friday afternoon. I simpy enjoy the crisp weather and being outdoors during the Fall!

Here's my favorite little pumpkin...

I enjoy spending time outdoors with these two guys, enjoying the fall weather!

Fall Banquets

Our Fall Banquet for ministers and wives was Friday night. We had a record crowd...89 ministers/pastors and wives. All in one room. Eating, fellowshipping, catching up, and just enjoying being together. When I say that everything turned out beautiful...well, that's an understatement! It was the most relaxing evening I have had in a long time. Enjoy the pictures.

Anthony with some of our long time friends...We actually were with them at another banquet for a different section on Thursday night also, so we've had so much fun catching up!

Here's my own little slice of heaven for the night...It was wonderful!

I seriously hated to see the evening end...but all good things must come to an end.

Since Anthony is the Foreign Missions Director for Sections 4&5 we got to attend both banquets. Here's some pictures from the banquet we attended on Thursday night.

Two completely different styles of decorating, but two of the best evenings I have spent in my life! Now, since we've had to leave Landon for the past two nights, we are looking forward to a wonderful day with him tomorrow! It's all about him, mommy and daddy tomorrow! I have a feeling we're gonna have to step down a bit and eat at McDonalds tomorrow. And I don't mind that one bit!

Everything but the kitchen sink...

This post will have to have so many things thrown in, by the end you'll think I did include the kitchen sink.

The biggest news first...Landon has a new and HEALTHY puppy! He named him Boomer. We have no clue where that name came from. One of our good friends here is lovingly nicknamed Boom, so we can only hope that he didn't name a dog after him. Poor guy.

This picture cracks me up. I love the look on his face...WHO are you people and WHERE am I?

Landon is so happy that his new puppy is well and 'will not die'. That was his first question. Then all night long the first night he would hold him and check his breathing. To say that Friday night was a long night would be an understatement! The kid was up checking on the dog all night. I think the puppy became annoyed with being woke up!

Then on Saturday our youth group had a garage sale at the church. We arrived at the church early since the garage sale was starting at 7am. Since it was Anthony's birthday his parents and some of our friends beat us to the church and had breakfast made for us to enjoy. And, he was greeted by this sign when we pulled up.

It's the little things like this that makes you feel special and loved. Everyone here just pours so much love out on us that we feel like royalty. Oh, and I should mention that we made almost $450 on our youth garage sale! We were pleased! Our goal was $200. We now have a trip to Kemah completely paid for...tickets, eats, van rentals, and gas, everything! We will be going the third weekend this month. Our group of 25 youth who are going couldn't be happier!

On Saturday evening we rode with my in-laws to Lake Charles and I introduced Pops (my FIL) to Starbucks!!! Starbucks is a huge treat for us since we have to drive 25 miles to the closest one. Needless to say, I was in heaven. My father-n-law wasn't quite as hooked as we were. Actually I think he just couldn't ge over the fact that we could pay $4 for a cup of coffee and then ENJOY it! LOL
Don't worry...Landon had a children's hot chocolate. No coffee in his cup!

On Sunday night, the church surprised my husband with a birthday party after service. We had finger foods and cake and all sorts of desserts. I told you they are way too good to us here. They had a money tree for him instead of gifts.
Here's Anthony at his birthday party with one of our youth. Lauryn tells everyone she is our adoptive daughter. She helps us with Landon when we need a sitter or just some help keeping him occupied at church functions. We love her to pieces and Landon loves her too. Landon says she reminds him of his friend, Ellerie, from Texas.

Lauryn also surprised me Sunday when she let me read her school speech. She had to write and give a speech on leadership. I was honored that she choose to write about me and our friendship and how she looks up to me as a leader in her life. She is making me a copy of it and I will cherish it forever! It moved me to tears. We just never know how much we impact a young person's life when we take time to listen to them and work with them through all their problems and cares in life.

So, there's my wrap-up of our weekend. I told you there would be just about everything but the kitchen sink...Hope everyone had a great weekend!
